The Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) started running learning circles in 2016. Two years later, more than 15 KNLS branches regularly run learning circles across Kenya supporting hundreds of learners using free online courses. In 2018, KNLS librarians traveled to Uganda and Zambia to train more public librarians in the learning circle model.
