Introduce yourself!

Hello,

My name is Mary Neuman. Along with Jennifer Ashby and Erin Kolb, I’m working through the Learning About Learning Circles course in preparation for facilitating a learning circle on Microsoft Word. I’m the Youth Services Librarian/Assistant Director at Asotin County Library in Clarkston WA. Jennifer Ashby and I were introduced to Learning Circles by Nico in Kansas City last December at the Digital Inclusion Cohort meeting for the Accelerating Promising Practices in Small & Rural Libraries IMLS grant. Learning with, and from, other people in a learning circle instead of being the ‘expert’ teacher opens up lots of possibilities for learning opportunities at our library.

Hi, my name is Beverly Rhoades and I am new to the P2PU community. I am a retired teacher and college administrator with experiences in all phases of education and have been committed to helping people learn for more than 30 years. I am excited about he opportunities and resources available through P2PU for new and experienced learners. I hope to share my experiences with others and eager to learn new skills in the process. My new learning experience this week is learning to navigate a new program. You can teach an old dog new tricks, but I’m finding that it takes more repetition than it used to.

Hi Beverly, welcome! Are you thinking about running some learning circles of your own?

I am hoping to do a few after the first of the year. I am attending learning circles class now and hope to become more comfortable as I learn more.
