Anyone living in/near NY that would like to partner to provide a presentation at the 2019 NYLA Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs, November 13-16, 2019?
@Kirkland_Arden comes to mind and may have some ideas for others who are planning on joining. She is well connected to the Empire Library Network. BTW she is involved with this project: https://www.design4learning.info/ and experimented with a learning circle.
@aoliveras outside you, no other NY libraries come to mind. We’ll be there to help you along the way like sharing presentation ideas or workshop proposal examples.
I would love to! Thanks for suggesting this, @aoliveras! You’re the one who introduced me to P2PU in the first place - we definitely need to get more New Yorkers on board. I know someone in NYC who is following the P2PU model but is not here in this community yet (at least I don’t think so) - I’ll reach out to her. She and I just talked up P2PU as a part of a presentation about OER (Open Educational Resources) at OpenCon in NYC in October.
I agree that this should be talked up at NYLA. I would be happy to contribute in any way needed. If you and your colleague want to get together at some point to discuss remotely, just let me know. I believe the deadline for program submission is January 15th. I have facilitated one learning circle (https://learningcircles.p2pu.org/en/studygroup/create/?course_id=307) and plan on possibly facilitating another in the Spring (Intro to Java programming).
