Hi. My name is Aaron Coutu. I am the Assistant Director of the Cumberland Public Library in Cumberland, RI. I joined P2PU as part of an initiative of the RI Library Association to learn about the tool. I am hoping to learn more about the tool to possibly use the learning circle tool as part of my own program or as part of some group discussions I lead with my church.

Hi everyone! I’m Lucy, and I’m exploring the use of Course-in-a-box and learning circles to help me enhance access to training for wildlife conservation practitioners globally. I developed my original courses at Oxford University, but my startup VerdantLearn aims to create new learning opportunities based on Open Educational Principles and open source tools.

If your work relates to the environment or climate, or you’re an open education entrepreneur, I would love to connect with you, here or on LinkedIn.

I look forward to learning from you all!

Greetings to all,
My name is Mosi. I am an adult reference librarian with the Chicago Public Library and my manager thought P2PU would be good for me to familiarize myself with. Although at this point I’m not sure what else I’d like to learn, I’m curious about Learning Circles. Part of my academic background include the visual arts and Black Studies; I’m curious about facilitating a course introducing African American Metaphysics. One of the most recent things that I have learned is about the artist Jean Michel Basquiat being a multi-linguist.

Hi! My name is Beth Knight Mirmelstein from Worthington, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus), and I attended my first learning circle last fall. I was very impressed with the process and with what I learned from the experience.
The Learning Circle I attended was an outgrowth of the work on racial justice by our city’s Community Relations Commission and was facilitated by our library. As a commissioner with the Community Relations Commission, I sit on the Age Friendly subcommittee and am looking to create another learning circle for our city, this one on Ageism.
For context, our city has recently begun the required process, designed by AARP, to have our city designated as an “Age Friendly” city. There are many tactical and logistical steps we need to follow to earn that designation, but the subject of ageism which, is inherent, or will be, in the decisions the city makes, is not directly addressed. Hence, the desire for the learning circle.
I was so hoping that, like my colleague who organized the racial justice learning circle, I could come to P2PU and find a learning circle already laid out for me, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. So, I’ll be creating one that hopefully I can share when completed.
If any of you know of any existing learning circles on this topic, I’d love to hear about them.
Thanks again for offering this wonderful service to the worldwide community.

Hello! I’m June and I’m a librarian at a public library in Boise, Idaho. It doesn’t seem that P2PU has had a presence here in Idaho yet, but I’m making my way through the introductory course to evaluate how our library can help bring this resource to our community.
