Embedding Discourse Site within Course in a Box

Am I correct in assuming that to make the Discourse site seem part of a site it all has to do with styling the header the same? They are actually two distinct sites…?

For example, right now we are just in the P2PU Discourse site? I’m trying to figure out how to use my Discourse site with both my #Mechanical Mooc and Course in a Box.

Yes, you are correct, they are two separate sites that are styled the same way. What’s the difference going to be between the Mechanical MOOC and Course in a Box? I’m thought you were going to use one or the other, now I’m intrigued

I’d like to try to use Mechanical Mooc too!! I haven’t done too much with the layout but here it is:
I set the email up through Mandrill but I haven’t really tested it.

I’m debating how to combine Course in a Box, Mechanical Mooc and our original Wordpress site. I need some kind of CMS so I think I’ll have to keep the wordpress site but honestly Mechanical MOOC is awesome!

Also, do you think Littlebits is doing something different with Discourse here:

It seems to be embed in a deeper way.

Thanks! What parts of the Mechanical Mooc do you find most useful - content, signups, class photo, scheduling emails, overall look?

I think the look of it is great of course. The configuration of the signup process seems very powerful and intuitive. I’m not sure I could have figured out how to schedule a MOOC of this kind otherwise.

I’m sure I’ll have more feedback (and questions  ) when I get it going fully.

I think currently I wish there would be more instruction on best practices for linking it to the Course in a Box (Or some other content).

Thanks for all of your help so far!

I suspect you may be the developer of best practices here. Only thing that comes to my mind is that @steve used to post all the content that he would send out in email to a WordPress blog as well.

There is also this - http://mechanical-mooc.readthedocs.org/en/latest/course.html. It’s a bit dated and can benefit from any insights you have!
