Community Village Stall at Wikimania

Is anyone going to be at Wikimania? If so, would you be interested in doing an SOO booth? See John’s note below:

Hi All

I’m currently helping to organise Wikimania, the worldwide Wikipedia conference which is being held at the Barbican Centre, London from the 8 -10th of August. As part of Wikimania I’m running the Community Village, a place for Wikimedia Chapters, other organisations working in the open sector and organisations who produce open content to share what they’re doing with the 2000 attendees and the public.

Because of limited space and limited time capacity of organisations several organisations will share the hosting of a stall, we will try to accommodate as many groups as possible.

The deadline for registrations of interest is Monday 7th of July, we will then schedule time for each organisation in the programme. To register your interest in having a stall at the Community Village please fill in this form.

I’ll be there! Mostly working on Open Coalition stuff, but am happy to share space with SOO…

Excellent. The organisers have just been in touch and asked if P2PU would like to participate in a stall in the Community Village too. Might make more sense for the SOO and P2PU to do one together?

Or perhaps just group them all into an Open Learning one? we could see if @BeckPitt and some of the folks from OER Hub are interested too.

Sure – let’s see what happens with our CC stall proposal. If it doesn’t
make it in, would be good to combine stalls. :smiley:

But def SOO should be at both P2PU and CC stalls if both get a slot!
